Sounds similar to the Island pressing mentioned above, but still a tiny bit better, I think. Sounds nice and better than the first UK pressing, in my opinion. The German pressings are better, and there are quite a few variations out there: I agree about the original UK pressing of " Salisbury" sounding too dark and missing sparkle/treble. Maybe some suggestions ? Thank you very much. I will compare more albums in the near future. The US LP sounds a bit sharp and thin, whilst the german LP has nice bottom and not too much treble range. I compared a US MERCURY version and the german ISLAND pressing (A-1 / B-1) and the german LP is the winner. Whilst the german pressing lacks treble and clarity, the UK LP has a nice sound. I have the german ISLAND pressing (A-1 / B-1 / A-1 / B-1) and a UK BRONZE pressing (A-2 / B-2 / A-1 / B-1). I will receive a Holland BRONZE LP soon (A-4 / B-4), but I think it will sound the same as the german BRONZE LP (same stampers I think). The ISLAND LP is a tad louder, has slightly more bass and slightly less treble, compared to the german BRONZE LP, but both sound great I think. The german ISLAND pressing and the later BRONZE pressing sound great with a nice amount of treble and I can't decide which one of the german pressings I prefer. To my ears, the UK pressing sounds dull and dead with no air and sparkle. I compared a UK original pressing, the german ISLAND pressing (A-2 / B-2) and a later german BRONZE pressing (A-4 / B-4). To my ears, there are no huge differences between the three. I had the chance to listen to an UK original, a german ISLAND pressing (A-1 / B-1) and a later german bronze pressing (A-3 / B-2 76). Inspired by the CD thread of Roland, I start another one - this time to talk and discuss about the best available pressings / versions on vinyl.
